Act Like an Animal

Playing with our kids is important in order to develop their social skills, create a bond, and to discover what kind of learner they are.

I already know my son enjoys learning kinesthetically, so during play I'll teach him about certain animals by acting like them.  He LOVES watching this, and he always joins in.  Then we take turns.

One of us will say, "I'm a dinosaur!  Roar!" and walk like a dinosaur.

The other person will say, "I'm a cat!  Meow!"

We've pretended to be monkeys, turtles, dinosaurs, lions, cats, dogs, snakes, fish, bears, sheep, pigs, etc.
